Who is Pyry Hanski, you may ask? Well, you may know him from such bands as Less Than Three, Mörbid Vomit, and Gloria Morti. Haven’t heard of any of them? Then shame on you. If you were at Nummirock in 2014, you might have caught him on stage with Stam1na when Kaikka had injured his arm! We’re happy to share the playlist of this multi-talented guy’s life with you!

1. The first song you remember hearing as a child
Damn, this is really hard one… I think it has probably been some song from the almighty Finnish children’s music band, Fröbelin Palikat!

2. The first song you can recall ever really and truly loving
Well, really hard to remember this one also. Maybe the “Leijonan Metsästys” or “Sutsisatsi” from the very same Fröbelin Palikat.

3. A song that you loved as a teenager/reminds you of high school
I listened a lot to death and black metal back in the high school days. So if I would have to pick one song from both genres I would say Emperor’s “Inno A Satana” and Bloodbath’s “Ways to the Grave.”

4. The song or band that got you into metal music (or the current genre you play in)
Can’t remember the exact songs, but AC/DC and Iron Maiden was the first ones that I really fell in love with. Then came Children of Bodom and they rocked my world and changed my life! Alexi Laiho and Children of Bodom in general were probably the main reasons why I started to play guitar back in the day.

5. The most recent song to get stuck in your head
It really depends on what I’ve been listening to. This morning I listened to Daft Punk, so their great song, “Aerodynamic,” is the most recent song that got stuck in my head.

6. Your guilty pleasure song/band
I really like all those cheesy love songs like Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is.” Yes, I’m very evil-tr00-kvlt metalhead! 😀

7. The first album you bought with your own money/the first album you were really excited to own
It must have been Iron Maiden’s Live at Donington. I remember that I didn’t listen and almost do anything else for weeks than just listen to it, it just blew my mind!

8. A song that makes you want to curl up on the couch with a hot beverage
I have to say that the whole Shadows of the Sun album by Ulver, because it’s impossible to pick just one song from that perfect album. Ulver is the best band in the whole world!

9. A song to blast at full volume while you’re on the road
It would most definitely be either Kyuss’s “Green Machine” or Entombed’s “Say it in Slugs!”

10. The song you’d most like to be played at your funeral
This is easy one! It’s definitely going to be Black Sun Aeon’s “A Song for My Funeral.”
